HAVERHILL — Stop by the Crescent Yacht Club for “Steamboats Rolling on the River Weekend” from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday, Aug. 28-30, at 30 Ferry St.
Join one of the club’s most anticipated traditions as historic steamboats make their way to the nearby docks for a weekend of fellowship, food, music and riverfront fun.
The event includes breakfast gatherings, cookout barbecues, a classic car show and live jazz performances.

Sheepherding demonstration in September
HAVERHILL — Visit the fields of Tattersall Farm for a sheepherding demonstration from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 542 North Broadway.
Using rare heritage breed Gulf Coast Native Sheep, sheepherder Tim Molinara will host a live demonstration of herding with farm dogs.
Molinara will interact with the audience and will be available for questions. He will demonstrate how the dogs help manage the flock, talk about the history of sheepherding, the border collie and the importance of landrace breeds.

Fur Ball Gala, auction benefits felines
ANDOVER — The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society has invited the public to the 2026 Fur Ball Gala and Auction from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at 60 Canterbury St.
The event will be an evening dedicated to helping cats and kittens in need. More than just a gala, Fur Ball is an opportunity to support the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society’s mission while enjoying food, live and silent auctions, raffles and more.
Proceeds will support lifesaving programs that benefit vulnerable cats throughout the community, including shelter and adoption services, spay/neuter programs, veterinary care, community outreach and education.

Witchcraft history opens October
NORTH ANDOVER — The North Andover Historical Society will host an event discussing witchcraft history from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 31 Academy Road.
Join witchcraft trials expert Richard Hite, author of “In The Shadow of Salem,” and Carol Majahad, the former director of the North Andover Historical Society, on a tour of local sites that were involved in the trials.
Folks will visit the old cemetery, where townspeople who experienced the trials are buried, including Rev. Francis Dane, and the location of the meeting house. The Parson Barnard House, where Tomas Barnard lived after the trials, will be open for visiting after the tour.
The tour meets and begins at the First Burial Ground on Academy Road and Court Street. Every ticket includes a $5 donation to the North Andover Historical Society. Tickets cost $28.
