The first I LOVE NY 2025 Fall Foliage Report has arrived and as to be expected with the early days of September, Niagara County isn’t showing any signs of fall colors just yet.
The foliage reports are obtained from more than 90 volunteer field observers and reflect expected color conditions for the coming weekend. At this time of year, the most significant changes are expected in the Adirondacks and Catskills, according to field reports.
For the Niagara Region:
• Niagara County — No significant change expected in Lewiston or Niagara Falls
• Orleans County — 5% change in Albion with average to bright orange and red leaves
• Erie County — 5% change in East Aurora with mostly green leaves; less than 5% change in Buffalo
• Wyoming County — 10% change at Letchworth State Park in Warsaw with some emerging orange and yellow leaves
Locations with the most significant foliage change this weekend will include Wilmington, Saranac Lake and Old Forge (Adirondacks); Windham, Delhi and Liberty (Catskills); Corning (Finger Lakes); and Salamanca (Chautauqua-Allegheny).
I LOVE NY defines “peak” as the best overall appearance the foliage will have during the season, taking into account color transition, brilliance, and leaf droppage.
