OTSEGO COUNTY — Michigan State Police announced a new Gaylord Post commander on Monday.
First Lieutenant Harold Terry has been chosen to oversee post operations that serve Antrim, Emmet, Otsego and Charlevoix counties, a press release said.
“Terry’s leadership and extensive experience will be an asset as he leads Gaylord Post personnel,” the release said.
Terry, who was born in West Branch, began his career with the MSP in 1998 as a member of the 116th Trooper Recruit School and was first assigned to the Flint Post as a trooper. He joined the MSP Canine Unit and between 2004 and 2016 worked for the Stephenson and Houghton Lake posts.
He was promoted to uniform sergeant before transferring to the Gaylord Post as a sergeant. Terry previously served as the assistant commander at that post.
“My goal is to create future leaders within the ranks while making a positive change to the communities we serve,” Terry said.
