Gardens Buffalo Niagara is kicking off its 2026 season with a lineup of new and expanded programs, marking a major evolution for the organization. Once known primarily for its flagship summer event, Garden Walk Buffalo, the organization now offers a full season of activities designed to celebrate gardens, community, and creativity throughout the growing season.
The 2026 season launches Saturday and Sunday with the debut of the Spring Tour of Open Gardens, a brand-new opportunity for visitors to experience 16 gardens across Buffalo Niagara in full spring bloom.
Participating gardens are located throughout Buffalo Niagara and will be open between 10 a.m. and noon, with all locations welcoming visitors until at least 4 p.m. Locations are listed in the Open Gardens Guide, which is available for $20 in person at select garden centers and $25 online. Visit OpenGardensWNY.com for garden center locations that carry the guide. The Guide also provides access to nearly 90 gardens during Open Gardens Thursdays and Fridays throughout July, and a new evening event, Open Gardens Night Lights, on July 31.
“Many of our Open Gardeners would like to share their gardens with visitors in the spring so we have created an earlier opening weekend to enable this to happen,” said Mike Shadrack, Chair of the Open Gardens Committee. “We hope people enjoy it.”
“We’re working toward a vision where everyone in our region has access to beautiful green spaces.” said Audrey Clark, executive director, “Expanding our programming allows more people to connect with gardens, with each other, and with the creative energy that makes our region so special. It inspires more people to garden and become stewards in their own neighborhoods.”
