People looking for an item to complete a collection or just looking for a deal in household goods or décor may find what they are looking for at the rummage sale at the Crown Gardens and Archives starting Thursday, April 11.
Continuing through Saturday, April 13, at the Archives, 715 Chattanooga Ave. in Dalton, the spring sale benefits the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society and its eight historic properties and will feature a wide variety of collectibles, jewelry, glassware, plants, artwork, furniture, kitchen items, books and other items including a washer/dryer set.
All items for sale were donated by area residents and are reasonably priced.
Sale hours are Thursday and Friday, April 11-12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The spring/Easter sale is one of the historical society’s two principal fundraisers. The historical society said in a press release it is “dedicated to preserving, collecting, researching and interpreting historical information or items to help future generations understand their heritage.”
The historical society owns and maintains the following properties in Whitfield and Murray counties: the Crown Gardens & Archives, which serves as its headquarters in Dalton and was the former offices of the nearby Crown Cotton Mill; other properties in Whitfield County including the Hamilton House, Blunt House, Dug Gap Battle Park and Huff House; in Murray County, the Wright Hotel, Chatsworth Depot and the Old Spring Place Methodist Church.
