PSU’s Men’s Hockey Team remains at top of rankings
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Plattsburgh State men’s ice hockey team remained at the top of the rankings in the USCHO.com Division III Top-15 poll this week, with 301 voting points, as announced Monday afternoon. The full rankings can be found here.
The Cardinals played one game last week, taking on SUNY Potsdam at home. With a tie game late in the third period, Cardinal senior Paul Bryer (Clarkston, Mich./Islanders Hockey Club) scored off a rebound from the back boards for a wrap-around score to take the lead. The Cards won 3-2 and moved to 6-0-0 on the season.
PSU’s Women’s Hockey up to No. 4
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — The Plattsburgh State women’s ice hockey team moved to the No. 4 spot in the USCHO.com Division III Top-15 poll for the current week with 247 voting points, as announced on Monday afternoon. The full rankings can be found here.
The Cardinals opened last week with a 2-2 tie against then No. 13 Norwich, playing through 65 minutes with no victor. Bridget Orr (Excelsior, Minn./North American Hockey Academy) tallied two goals in the tie, and then added an assist in the team’s win later in the week, at SUNY Potsdam, which the team won 4-1. Zsofia Pazmandi (Kaposvar, Hungary/Ontario Hockey) registered two goals in the team’s win over the Bears.
