‘Chuck-A-Duck’ Fundraiser Coming to PSU’s Men’s Basketball Game
PLATTSBURGH — SUNY Plattsburgh students will host a fundraiser for JCEO’s food pantry during the men’s basketball game in Memorial Hall at 7:30 p.m. today. Participants in “Chuck-A-Duck,” a rubber duck toss for food insecurity awareness, have the chance to win a signed poster of the men’s basketball team.
During halftime, duck-holders will toss their ducks toward the center of the court from the bleachers. The person whose duck lands closest to the center will receive the prize.
“Over the past year, we have seen the needs in our community grow, with more families than ever relying on us for essential services like food pantries and emergency services,” Ellie Jent, JCEO director of development, said. “With your help, we can continue to meet the rising need and ensure that all of our neighbors are cared for.”
Rubber ducks will be available for $2 each at the door. Cash and online donations are accepted. All proceeds go to JCEO.
“As we head towards the holiday season, we want to do everything that we can to combat food shortages in the North Country,” Michael Blaine, SUNY Plattsburgh’s head men’s basketball coach, said. “I encourage all of our incredible family, friends, and fans in Cardinal Country to show up in a big way on Tuesday night as the game that we all love helps to make a positive impact in our community.”
The basketball game will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Memorial Hall located at 23 Rugar St., Plattsburgh, NY, 12901.
