Hebert turning heads at Notre Dame
Blake Hebert, who played quarterback at Central Catholic for three years before transferring to the Brunswick School in Connecticut in the fall of 2024, is already turning heads apparently for Notre Dame.
Originally committed to Clemson, he withdrew his commitment and chose to attend the Fighting Irish in South Bend, Ind. He joined the program last January.
In 2022, Hebert threw for 1,407 yards and 19 touchdowns as a sophomore at Central before he broke a bone in his leg in the team’s 2023 season opening loss to Springfield Central. At Brunswick, last fall he completed 58 percent of his passes for 1,748 yards with 24 touchdowns to only one interception.
He is currently listed third on the QB depth chart behind redshirt freshman C.J. Carr and red-shirt sophomore Kenny Menchey. His name has been mentioned as possibly in the mix as a starter.
Stay tuned.

US 18U national hockey has no Mass. residents
I don’t know if it’s history-making, but the USA’s 2025 U18 men’s select team does not have a player from Massachusetts.
USA lost to Sweden on Tuesday, 5-3, in the
In fact there is only one player from New England, Nolan Duskocy, of Ellington, Conn.
Even more bizarre, there are two players from Florida and California, with Utah, North Dakota and North Carolina each with one.
The only state with three players is Minnesota and Michigan — not a surprise, with nearby Illinois having two.
There were times when Mass. would have upwards of five players, if not more.
