OAKLAND — After a low scoring first half, No. 1 Southern took command in the third quarter, leading to a 48-31 win over Indiana Saturday at Ram Arena.
The Rams (6-3) led 7-5 and 16-8 through two frames before outscoring Indiana (11-1) in the third quarter 19-6.
Emelee Parks paced Southern with 13 points while Jayden Weaver scored 12.
Addy Hutton led Indiana with 15 points.
The Rams host Mountain Ridge Thursday at 7 p.m.
Allegany 38, Northern 27
CUMBERLAND — No. 3 Allegany won a defensive slugfest Saturday over Northern.
The Campers (8-0, 2-0 Western Maryland Athletic Conference) led 8-4 after one while the Huskies (3-3, 0-2 WestMAC) took a 16-10 halftime lead.
Alco led 30-23 after three and outscored Northern 8-4 in the fourth.
Savannah Walton led the Campers with 13 points while Braylin Bosley scored 12 with five steals.
Julia Imes grabbed nine rebounds and scored two points while Amanda Vizza added seven points and 10 boards.
Abby Nelson paced the Huskies with 10 points.
Allegany won the junior varsity game 45-20 led by Aysa Love’s 13 points and Addison Holliday’s 11.
The Campers travel to No. 4 Hampshire (5-3) Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Mtn. Ridge 70, Chestnut Ridge 32
FROSTBURG — Tied at 12 after one quarter, Mountain Ridge commanded the second quarter and controlled from there, defeating Chestnut Ridge on Friday at the Coal Mine.
The Miners (4-3) outscored the Lions 22-6 in the second quarter.
Taylor Lamberson, Kealana Pua’auli and Allison Tringler combined for 20 of the 22 points in the frame.
Pua’auli led both teams with 20 points, adding five rebounds, six assists and six steals.
Lamberson scored 13 with four boards, five assists and three steals.
Tringler finished with 11 points and six rebounds while Maci Beeman added 10 points and a steal.
Leah Vent paced the Lions (0-9) with 16 points.
Mountain Ridge led 34-18 at halftime and 57-25 after three.
The Miners host Northern (3-2) on Monday at 7 p.m.
