McHENRY — No. 1 Southern controlled the fourth quarter, outscoring Mars 18-7 to win 58-40 on Tuesday in the finale of the Deep Creek Classic.
The Rams (5-3) led 16-9, 33-19 and 40-33 through three quarters.
Jayden Weaver and Joycelyn Ward each scored 15 points for Southern.
Alexis Cashdollar scored a game-high 25 points for Mars while Mya Moore scored 10.
Cashdollar is committed to Wake Forest as a preferred walk-on.
The Rams head to Mountain Ridge (3-3) next Thursday at 7 p.m.
Moorefield 61, East Hardy 14
MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Nine players scored for Moorefield in a rout of East Hardy Tuesday.
Brenna See led the Yellow Jackets (2-4) with 12 points.
Moorefield led 14-2, 35-8 and 52-10 through three frames.
East Hardy (0-4) heads to Tucker County Friday at 5:45 p.m.
Moorefield travels to Tucker on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
