MANKATO — Mankato officials have declared a snow emergency that will restrict parking in the downtown Mankato corridor between 10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.
Parking will not be allowed in specific downtown areas during the snow emergency.
The corridor includes South Front Street and sections of streets between Liberty Street and Madison Avenue.
Vehicles in violation of the no-parking order will be towed to Affordable Towing, 600 Summit Ave.
Snow emergencies are put into effect to allow crews to efficiently remove accumulations of snow from city streets.
Free vehicle parking will be provided in the Mankato Place and Civic Center ramps during the snow emergency.
