FROSTBURG — Jennifer Smouse won a three-way race to be Frostburg’s next commissioner of finance, according to the city’s Board of Elections.
Results from the June 2 election were certified Friday.
Smouse received 567 votes, followed by Kelly Mears with 416 and John Shoemake Jr. with 107.
Smouse will succeed Donny Carter, who did not see reelection.
Mayor Todd Logsdon (936 votes), Commissioner of Public Safety Kevin G. Grove (924 votes), Commissioner of Public Works Will Coburn (926 votes) and Commissioner of Water, Parks and Recreation Nina Forsysthe (915) votes, each ran unopposed.
Turnout was 24.7% — 67% of ballots cast were returned by mail and 32.96% were returned to the city’s ballot dropbox.
