THOMASVILLE- Thomas County Central High School Bands program has six youth musicians who earned coveted spots on the 2024 Georgia Music Educators Association All-State Band. The school also has one alternate selected. These students include:

Sophomore Jaclyn Maxwell ~ bass clarinet ~ 9-10 Concert Band 2
Freshman Gabriel McGuire ~ French horn ~ 9-10 Concert Band 1
Junior Dylan Thompson ~ French horn ~ 11-12 Symphonic Band 1
Freshman Carter Weiss ~ tuba ~ 9-10 Concert Band 1
Freshman Hudson Wynn ~ tuba ~ 9-10 Concert Band 1
Sophomore Zachary Padilla ~ trumpet ~ 9-10 Concert Band (alternate)
Auditions took place in McDonough on Saturday, Jan. 6. Only one other school in GMEA District 2 had a student selected for All-State Band. Director Joe Regina congratulated these students and commended the program’s other pupils who made it to the second round of auditions and represented TCCHS well.
GMEA All-State Band will be in Athens from Feb. 29 to March 2.
