VALDOSTA — SGMC Health recently announced the promotion of Cherise Giddens, BSN, RN, to vice president and chief nursing officer. In this key leadership role, Giddens will play a pivotal part in advancing SGMC Health’s commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, driving innovation in nursing practices, and fostering a culture of excellence within the healthcare system.
Giddens brings a wealth of experience to the position following an impressive 37-year nursing career, all at SGMC Health. She most recently served as the vice president of clinical nursing. Prior to that role, she served as administrative director of nursing services following her years as a staff nurse.
“I am honored to accept the chief nursing officer position,” shared Giddens. “I am dedicated to patient safety and enhancing the overall patient experience, and I look forward to leading our nursing team in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care and driving positive outcomes for both our staff and those we serve.”
Giddens earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing as well as an Associate of Science in Nursing degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.
