Several people were injured in a crash involving five vehicles at Niagara Falls Boulevard and Military Road early Friday afternoon.
Emergency crews responded to the scene at 12:24 p.m. In addition to Niagara Falls Police, the Niagara Falls Fire Department, two AMR ambulances, two Niagara County EMS ambulances and an ambulance from Tri Community also responded to the scene to assist. At least four people were transported to the hospital for various injuries.
Five vehicles, including a Chevy Silverado, a Jeep, a Hyundai, a Chevy Traverse, and a Chevy Cruze, with a total of eight occupants were involved in the crash.
A preliminary investigation by police at the scene indicated that the Silverado was traveling north on Military Road when it was struck by the Jeep traveling eastbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard after it ran a red light. The impact of the collision caused the vehicles to spin. As a result, the Jeep hit the Chevy Cruze and the Hyundai, which both were parked at the light facing west. Once the Hyundai was hit, the vehicle rolled back into the Traverse.
