BEEKMANTOWN — It was a pitchers duel between Ti’s Myleigh Drinkwine and Beekmantown’s Lilly Perry.
This time the edge went to Drinkwine as the Sentinels continued their undefeated campaign with a 3-0 victory over the Eagles.
Drinkwine struck out 14 while Perry sat eight down. The duo scattered three hits each. Ticonderoga was able to jump early miscuses to take the lead.
Ti’s Avery Lender hit the lone extra base hit, a double.
“It was a great duel between 2 excellent pitchers,” Beekmantown’s Michele Barnes said. “Ti was able to string their hits together and take advantage of a few miscues, to score a couple runs in the 3rd inning.
“They are such a solid team who play errorless ball and cash in on their opportunities. Drinkwine kept us off balance all game; we could not get anything rolling offensively to support Lilly Perry who threw fantastic. Defensively, Ashley Barnes made several catches in center field that kept Ti further off the scoreboard.”
