Turning 65 is an important milestone — and it often comes with many questions. When should you enroll in Medicare? What Social Security benefits are available? Can you receive help with prescription drug costs? What legal and financial matters should you consider?
With approximately 11,000 Americans turning 65 each day as part of the Baby Boomer generation, understanding these programs and planning ahead is more important than ever. To help local residents prepare, The Dale Association will host a free “Turning 65” event at 6 p.m. on Sept. 28. The program will cover important topics people should understand before or when they turn 65, including:
• Medicare facts
• Social Security
• Prescription drug assistance
• Estate planning
Representatives from EPIC, the Niagara County Office for the Aging, and the Center for Elder Law & Justice will be available to provide helpful information and answer questions.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their questions. Whether you are approaching 65, planning for retirement, helping a spouse or family member, or simply want to better understand the resources available, this informative program is for you. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
The program will be held at The Dale Association, 33 Ontario St. in Lockport. Seating is limited, so reservations are encouraged. To save your seat, call 716-433-1886.
