Fast Facts: Since becoming a standalone program four years ago, which coincided with the MIAA moving to the new statewide playoff format, the Clippers have never missed the postseason. … A trend that should it continue this winter, will start with two-time Daily News MVP Olivia Wilson. The senior and three-year captain was believed to lead the state in goals last year (27), and she also added 11 assists to go over 100 career points. Wilson will almost certainly be a two-time Daily News Field Hockey All-Star as well, after scoring over 40 goals this fall. … The Clippers then return a second Daily News All-Star in senior forward Mackenzie Riley, who scored 5 goals with 12 assists last year. … Then in net, Cody Saboliauskas is back for her second year as the team’s starter. The year-round goalie also plays the position in both field hockey and lacrosse. … The Clippers did have to say goodbye to what would have been two more Daily News All-Star returners. Two-time All-Star Holly Sullivan (11g, 11a last year) now plays for the Boston Hockey Academy U19 team, while Allie Simons (9g, 9a) is repeating her sophomore year at Pingree Academy. … Reese Beauparlant is coming off a strong fall playing defense for the field hockey team, and should earn a lot of minutes on the blue line this winter. Her father, Jed, is a Newburyport Wall of Famer and the longtime assistant coach of the boys hockey team. … The Clippers started the year with a 3-1 loss to Andover, where Wilson scored the team’s lone goal off an assist from Bella Belanger.
