PLATTSBURGH — Community advocate and public servant Scott Ewing will officially announce his candidacy for Clinton County Coroner on Thursday.
The announcement will be made at 10:30 a.m. at Plattsburgh City Hall. All are welcome to attend.
Ewing’s campaign is centered on community, compassion and a commitment to continuing the work of strengthening the Clinton County Coroner’s Office. He believes the office plays a critical role in serving families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives and must continue to operate with integrity, transparency and respect.
“The Coroner’s Office exists to serve our community with dignity and professionalism,” Ewing said in a statement Monday. “I am committed to building on the progress that has been made and ensuring the office continues moving forward in a way that serves residents, supports families and works collaboratively with law enforcement, emergency responders and community partners.”
Ewing emphasized the position is about public service above politics, as well as maintaining the public’s trust. His focus will be on continuing efforts to modernize operations, strengthen partnerships and ensure the office meets the highest standards of professionalism and accountability.
He believes the coroner’s office should continue evolving to meet the needs of Clinton County’s growing and changing community while honoring the core mission of public service.
Last month, Clinton County resident, business owner, former EMT and former New York State correction officer Cliff Berg announced his candidacy for the position.
