The Schenevus baseball team picked up an important, early-season Tri-Valley League win on Monday, defeating Edmeston/Morris 18-6 on the road.
Owen Green was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBI for the Dragons, Owen Bryant went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Cody Keator was 2-for-2 with a double. Brayden Poliseno picked up the win on the mound.
For E/M, Landon Wust was 2-for-3 with a triple and Lorenzo Reisen was 2-for-3 with a double.
Schenevus will host South Kortright on Wednesday while E/M will be at home against Laurens/Milford the same day.
Laurens/Milford 12, Richfield Springs 3
Laurens/Milford used a five-run third inning to defeat Richfield Springs 12-3 at home on Monday.
Nick DeBoer struck out nine batters in four innings to pick up the win. At the plate, William Rohde went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, Evan Clark had two doubles and four RBI and Ashton Solovitch added another double. Rohde, Solovitch and Bryce Harvey all picked up their first varsity hits in the win.
L/M will be at Edmeston/Morris on Wednesday while Richfield Springs will visit Brookfield on Tuesday.
Unatego/Franklin 9, Southern Cayuga 8 (Saturday) Unatego/Franklin 10, Bainbridge-Guilford 1 (Saturday)
Unatego/Franklin was in Cortland on Saturday where it won both games of a doubleheader, defeating Southern Cayuga 9-8 and Bainbridge-Guilford 10-1.
In the opener against Southern Cayuga, Xander Johnson went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Tristan Fairbairn had two hits and Chase Simonds drove in a pair of runs.
On the mound, Brayden Nichols and Josh Sargent combined for 10 strikeouts.
Johnson had another big game at the plate against B-G, going 4-for-4 with a triple, a double and three RBI. Gavin Nordberg had two hits and two RBI while earning the win on the mound after striking out eight and allowing seven hits and two walks.
Brayden Swartwout drove in the Bobcats’ only run while Kaiden Seymour struck out six batters in four innings.
U/F will be at Sidney on Wednesday.

Cooperstown 5, Sauquoit Valley 3
Cooperstown rallied from a late deficit to defeat Sauquoit Valley 5-3 at home on Monday.
Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Hawkeyes plated three runs to seal the victory. Grace Sperry’s RBI double and Emmy Lippitt’s RBI single were the key blows in the frame.
Lippitt was also the winning pitcher, striking out six batters in the circle.
Cooperstown (2-0) will be at Morrisville-Eaton on Wednesday.
Edmeston/Morris 35, Franklin 20 (Friday)
Edmeston/Morris defeated Franklin 35-20 in a wild Tri-Valley League contest on Friday.
Abby O’Brien had a monster performance for E/M, going 4-for-4 with two triples, two doubles, two RBI and six runs scored. Trinite Barker also had two doubles as part of a 5-for-6 performance, Ella Sparaco went 4-for-4 with four RBI and Harper Folts went 3-for-5 with four RBI.
Zoe Boren drove in four runs for Franklin, Daniella DeSilva was 3-for-5 with three RBI and Katie Sanford also drove in three runs.
