SARANAC — Saranac reached .500 on the campaign with a 35-6 victory over AuSable Valley, Saturday.
Corbin Duffield and Zander Daniels combined to run for 125 yards as the Spartans (2-2, 2-1 CVAC) outgained the Patriots on the ground 160-4.
Duffield also was strong through the air going 6-9 for 112 yards and a touchdown to Antoney Bingham to open the third quarter scoring.
Duffield’s biggest gain came on the only touchdown in the first when he dashed for a 52 yard score.
Tanner Fields and Daniels scored in the second, with the latter adding a two point conversion run to set the score at 21-0 at the break.
Branigan Boulds added a 32 yard touchdown scamper in the third quarter to close out the Spartan scorebook.
AuSable Valley (1-3, 1-2) made sure it wasn’t a shutout when Deon Lawyer powered into the end zone from two yards out.
Aiden Blaise led the Patriots through the air on 6-11 passing for 46 yards.
Boulds was Saranac’s leading receiver with three catches for 32 yards. Warren Pray led AuSable with one catch for 22 yards.
Saranac now travels to face Ticonderoga (0-4, 0-3 CVAC), Friday at 7 p.m. at Sentinel Field. AuSable Valley travels for a conference clash against Beekmantown (3-1, 2-1 CVAC), Friday.
