NEWBURYPORT — Less-than-perfect weather didn’t deter Santa and Mrs. Claus from making their highly anticipated arrivals Sunday afternoon courtesy a Coast Guard vessel as hundreds of kids and kids at heart watched. The Claus’ appearance was just the start of the city’s annual holiday season kick off celebration that featured a parade, live music and the official lighting of a massive Christmas tree in the middle of Market Square.
