The New York Power Authority’s annual Deck the Halls event takes place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the admission-free Niagara Power Vista in Lewiston.
The event will feature free photos with Santa and additional activities in the Niagara Power Vista’s Community Room, including performances by the Legacy Dance Studio dancers and Harry F. Abate band, along with face painting, balloon art, crafts and interactive activities with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
Visitors can hop aboard the Vista Polar Express — a trackless train providing rides around the traffic circle by WNY Trackless Train of Buffalo, NY. In addition, NYS Parks will provide free rides on its Niagara Scenic Trolley with pickup and drop-off between the Niagara Power Vista and the Welcome Center, Prospect ticket booth at Niagara Falls State Park during the event.
During the event, guests can enjoy the 2025 Festival of Trees, a holiday-inspired display that highlights the work of local nonprofits. The exhibit runs all month long from Dec. 1 through 30. Nonprofits that are still interested in participating in the Festival of Trees can click on the link Festival of Trees Participation Form or call 716-286-6661 for further details.
Visitors are also encouraged to explore the Niagara Power Vista’s year-round exhibits, which include riding in the virtual rollercoaster, creating a transmission distribution system on a customized computer grid table, building a dam, simulating the coordination of power across the state and have a “hair-raising” experience. Admission and parking are always free.
The Power Vista is located at the Niagara Power Project, 5777 Lewiston Road, Lewiston.
