SALEM, N.H. — Controversial Town Manager Chris Dillon announced on Friday afternoon he was stepping down from his position.
Assistant Town Manager Joe Devine confirmed Dillon’s resignation, effective Friday.
Devine could not provided any additional detail about why Dillon stepped down.
On Monday, Town Council will discuss the process for appointing the next town manager.
Dillon began work with the town in 2007 and was named town manager in 2017.
Dillon sent an internal email mid-afternoon Friday to all town employees which was obtained by The Eagle-Tribune. The email was sent from a town server.
“This community has grown since I started in 2007,” Dillon wrote. “From the racetrack to the Tuscan and a million other projects. The employees of this community keep the community moving forward.”
