LAVALE β The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal has determined an outside fire involving a vehicle and trailer that caused damage to a residence accidental.
Deputy state fire marshals said in a release Monday the fire at 13 Robinwood Drive destroyed a 1998 Ford Mustang, a small utility trailer and damaged vinyl siding to a residence.
Firefighters were dispatched to the fire about 1 p.m. Saturday, according to an Allegany County Joint Communications Center spokesperson.
βThe owner had driven the vehicle down the road and was returning to the residence when he noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment,β investigators said.
Units from LaVale and Corriganville responded to the incident, according to the Joint Communications Center.
It took approximately 10 minutes for six firefighters to control the blaze.
Investigators believe the fire started in the engine compartment of the vehicle before spreading to the adjacent trailer and damaging the siding.
