The state Route 219 Expressway will be closed to traffic between state Route 39 in the Village of Springville and the terminus of the expressway at Peters Road in the Town of Ashford, Cattaraugus County, from Tuesday until Oct. 31, to facilitate construction of a new roundabout.
Motorist will be directed to detour to the “Old Route 219” utilizing State Route 39 and Cascade Drive/Cascade Road/Miller Road before reconnecting with Route 219 at the Peters Road intersection in Ashford.
The state DOT is also advising motorists that State Route 400 northbound will be reduced from two lanes to one between the Union Road and Seneca Street exits in the Town of West Seneca between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., beginning Tuesday through Friday, Sept. 5, to facilitate repairs to the Birchwood Avenue overpass.
Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes when possible.
