GRANTSVILLE — Riverside Sports and Northern traded a pair of blowouts in a senior rec league doubleheader at Grantsville Park on Wednesday.
Northern (11-3) rolled to a 10-1 rout in Game 1 for its 10th win in 11 games, and Riverside (11-5) bounced back with a 13-1 romp in the nightcap.
The teams combined for three home runs in the first contest.
Chase Deremer drew Riverside level at 1 in the fourth inning, but Landon Yoder put Northern ahead for good with a solo shot of his own in the bottom half.
Yoder drove in two more with a single in the sixth, Elliott Myers-Shirer roped a two-run double later in the inning, and Emmitt Lipscomb punctuated the triumph with a two-run bomb to cap an eight-run frame.
Yoder went 3 for 5 with four RBIs, Myers-Shirer also had three base hits, and Blake Spiker and Gavin Maust doubled.
Hunter Beitzel was the winning arm, allowing a run on four hits with 10 strikeouts and one walk in seven innings.
Riverside’s Devin Hall was the losing pitcher in relief.
Riverside bounced back with a five-inning romp, led by five RBIs from Colt Resh, a two-run homer by Rylin Wilburn and a solo shot by Daulton Harper. Resh and Deremer doubled.
Coye Resh went the distance for the win on the bump, allowing a run on three hits in five innings. He struck out four and walked three.
Bailey Turner took the loss for Northern. Yoder led the offense with a double.
