Mirch Masala, a new Pakistani restaurant located at 539 Main St., held its grand opening Thursday afternoon, adding to the many South Asian offerings in the Cataract City.
Owners Saleem and Kaleem Ullah, a father and son team from Lahore, Pakistan, had run a restaurant in New York City called the Pakistan Tea House. The two moved to Niagara Falls in 2018 with plans to open another restaurant in the area.
Their spot at the corner of Main and Third streets was previously home to the India Place Restaurant.
Kaleem Ullah had previously told the Gazette they hope to take advantage of the tourists coming to see Niagara Falls.
Mirch Masla’s offerings are all halal, ranging from vegetarian to meat and seafood. It plans to be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
