Animal lovers are invited to join Resurgence Brewing Company for the Resurgence to the Rescue 2026 Can Release Party on July 26, benefiting two Western New York rescue organizations: Nickel City Canine Rescue and Akron Rescue Cats.
The event celebrates the winners of the annual Buffalo’s Top Dog & Coolest Cat Contest, which raises funds and awareness for local rescue efforts while highlighting some of Western New York’s most beloved pets.
This year’s winners, Sven, crowned Buffalo’s Top Dog, and Roomba, named Buffalo’s Coolest Cat, will be featured on special limited-edition Resurgence Brewing beer cans unveiled during the event.
Guests attending the Can Release Party can enjoy:

• Adoptable dogs and cats from participating rescue organizations
• Opportunities to meet fellow animal lovers and learn more about local rescue organizations
Proceeds from Resurgence to the Rescue support the lifesaving work of Nickel City Canine Rescue and Akron Rescue Cats, helping both organizations continue their efforts to rescue, care for, and find loving homes for animals throughout Western New York.
The Resurgence to the Rescue Can Release Party will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Resurgence Brewing Company, 55 Chicago St. in Buffalo, and is open to the public.
