LAWRENCE — The Lawrence Elks Lodge held its 14th Annual Veterans Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, which honored late city councilor Roger Twomey.
A lifelong resident of Lawrence, Twomey served on the city council for eight years, before retiring in 2015. He passed away in 2020 at age 89.
The Elks Lodge event on Sunday — which was attended by Roger’s wife, Marilyn Twomey — included breakfast, entertainment and a raffle. Photos of Twomey were on display for the breakfast, which ran from 8:30-11:30 a.m.
The event was free to veterans, while also attend by first responders, who helped serve many of the guests.
