Purchase online by midnight on March 10. Barrels will be available for pickup on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at a Hampstead area location to be determined.

Salem voter registrationSALEM — The Supervisors of the Checklist will meet for correction of the checklist on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Ingram Senior Center, 1 Sally Sweets Way.
Registered voters may also update their existing data or switch their party affiliations at this session. This will provide an opportunity for Salem residents to register to vote if they want their names to appear on the checklist that will be used for Town Election on Tuesday, March 12.
However, New Hampshire election law does allow a person to register to vote at the polls if they present required documentation. Photo identification and proof of residence is required. Naturalized citizens must show a passport or documented citizenship papers.
Residents may also register to vote with at the Town Clerk’s office during regular office hours through Friday, March 1.
Copies of the voter checklist are available to view at the Kelley Library reference desk and at the Town Clerk’s office.
Newton chili cook-off
NEWTON — Country Pond Fish & Game Club will hold its 20th annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the club, 82 Pond St.
The menu includes house chili, nachos chips, bread and coffee. The cost is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under age 10.

Craft and cake pops
KINGSTON — Kingston Recreation will hold a craft night on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Draft House, 22 Main St.
Create a festive Valentine’s Day sign. All of the supplies will be provided.
Learn to dip and decorate cake pops as well. Choose two cake pop flavors and learn tips and tricks to avoid lumps, cracks, what to do with air bubbles and keep that pop from falling off the stick. There will be two designs to recreate.
The cost is $35 per person. A cash bar and appetizers will be available to order.

Auxiliary scholarship available
KINGSTON — The Kingston Fire Department Auxiliary is offering a $500 scholarship to a resident of the Sanborn School District who has been accepted into a program of medical-related studies, fire science or law-enforcement.
The applicant must be a high school graduate by June 2024. This scholarship is open to post graduate and specialized post-high school programs, as well as undergraduate programs. It is not limited to first year or the first semester of the student’s program.
