The Military Memorial Museum of Upper Cumberland and its staff of volunteers recently hosted representatives from the Fantastic Quilt Guild who presented four members of the museum’s family of veteran volunteers with Quilts of Valor.
The guild’s Quilt of Valor committee consisted of Barbara Patterson, Paula Ochoa, Ruth Hill, and Pattie Arnold.
The museum held its annual volunteer appreciation brunch at One Bank Crossville on Nov. 1, where the Quilts of Valor were presented.
Receiving quilts were Christopher Kelley — SFC USA Retired.
Tours of duty included, Kuwait, Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, United Nations peacekeeping Mission in Bosnia and Panama; Guy McBride, Major USA retired. Also served in the USN, USAF, ARNG and USAFR. Tours of duty included Vietnam, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Gulf War/Desert, Shield/ Desert, Storm Operation Enduring Freedom, And Operation New Dawn;
Robert Shepherd, USN Petty Officer Third Class, (PO3) Aboard the USS Lockwood, Vietnam Era; and Robert Terraforte, USN Petty Officer Second Class, (PO2), tours of duty included the USS Harlan County LST 1196, during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
