DANVILLE — After a tough road loss to the Dubois County Bombers on Thursday, the Danville Dans were looking for some solace at home.
But the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes did not provide that solace as they beat the Dans 7-3 on Friday at Danville Stadium.
The Lucky Horseshoes got going early when Jarrett Chapman hit a two-run home run in the first inning. Chapman would have an RBI single in the third and score on an error in the third, then Roman Sienza stole home in the top of the fourth.
The Dans got on the board in the fourth when Owen Anderson had got a two-RBI single to drive in Connor Barth and Nathan Tobin and Jake Ottensmeier would then drive in Ben Fabbian with a single to make the score 5-3.
But Springfield would finish the scoring in the eighth when Nolan Decker scored on an wild pitch and Jackson Snitko would also score on a wild pitch.
Danville will hit the road for the weekend with games against the Lafayette Aviators and Sunday against the Normal CornBelters.
