MANKATO — A North Mankato man was sentenced to probation and received credit for jail time served in a domestic violence case dating back to December 2022.
Corey Timothy Hughes, 38, was convicted on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge Monday in Nicollet County District Court. He had two felony threats of violence, two additional misdemeanor domestic assault, three misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor property damage charges dismissed, according to court records.
A criminal complaint filed against Hughes stated the incident was related to an argument between Hughes and family members, during which one accused him of grabbing a knife. He denied the accusation.
Hughes’ 83-day jail sentence will be stayed while he completes two years of supervised probation. His jail credit was for seven days already served, according to court records.
Terms of his probation include no alcohol or drug usage, completion of domestic abuse programming and no possession of a firearm.
