THOMASVILLE – Thomas County Central sophomore Ashley Price continues to be the most consistent golfer Central’s program has to offer this year.
Her latest tournament occurred on Monday in the Viking Classic at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta. She finished with a round of 86, good for seventh out of 34 girls competing from schools like Lowndes, Coffee, Tift County, Ware County and Lee County.
According to head coach Kevin Esch, Price’s day on the links was just a continuation of the consistency she has brought to every tournament this year.
“She’s averaging 83 through three tournaments. That’s good for top 10 in Class 6-A right now, which is impressive for a sophomore,” Esch said. “She battles, she competes, she’s getting better about not letting bad holes affect the next hole. That’s her biggest thing, overcoming the bad holes, because the talent is there.”
Central returned to the links on Tuesday with a match against Thomasville at Country Oaks Golf Course.
