RED WING — Nicholas Werk pitched a no-hitter with 15 strikeouts, leading Mankato East to an 8-0 victory over Red Wing in a Big Nine Conference baseball game Saturday.
Werk also had a triple and scored three runs. Zach Bosse and Caden Hansen each had a hit and two RBIs.
East (2-0) plays at Northfield on Tuesday.
Softball
Cleveland tournament: Nicollet split a pair of games at the four-team tournament.
Leah Bode and Lydia Martens each had two hits and four RBIS as the Raiders defeated Cleveland 15-11. Morgan Black had two hits and three RBIs, and Jazmyn Goettlicher had four hits, including two doubles.
Bode pitched a complete game, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits and six walks with nine strikeouts.
Nicollet had no hits in a 6-0 loss to United South Central.

Boys tennis
Mankato East 4, Rochester Century 3: Kaleb Kim won 5-7, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to give the Cougars the Big Nine win at Rochester.
Madden Vanderwerf won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Quinn Kelly was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at No. 2.
Guillaume Bibbee won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 to complete the sweep of singles matches.
