Ava McSwain put on a show at this year’s Northwest Regional Tournament.
The Good Hope junior played a crucial part in a 68-45 victory over No. 3 Deshler (30 points and eight rebounds) and a 62-44 win against No. 6 Priceville (31 points, five rebounds and four steals) to help the top-ranked Raiders claim their first state bid since the 2011-12 season.
McSwain also shot 58 percent from the field (25 for 43) en route to earning MVP honors.
She is The Times’ Athlete of the Week.
