WESTVILLE — The Westville softball team had 11 hits as they cruised to a 12-0 win over Danville in five innings on Wednesday in their season opener.
Taylor Valangeon had a home run, two doubles and three RBIs for the Tigers, while Laney Cook had a triple, a double and two RBIs, Lily Kiesel had two RBIs and Dannika Hamer and Daylin Zaayer each had one RBI.
Valangeon also had nine strikeouts and only gave up three hits.
Ava Foster had two hits for Danville, who are 1-1 and will play Salt Fork on Saturday.
The Tigers will play Rantoul on Friday.
