MILFORD — Mati Griffis drove in a game-high four runs as the Oakwood/Schlarman Comets defeated the Milford Bearcats in a Vermilion Valley Conference softball game on Wednesday.
Griffis went 3-for-5 with two singles and a double, while Bella Bradford had four hits, three doubles and a single. Other Oakwood/Schlarman batters with multiple hits were Irene Rangel and Caydence Vermillion with three each, while Lainee Smith and Avery Trimmell each contributed two. Rangel and Vermillion each finished with three RBIs, while Bradford and Emberlyn Schull each had two runs batted in.
Rangel was the winning pitcher for the Comets (7-7-1) as she struck out 14 batters.
