Chad Reynolds accounted for three total touchdowns to help Vinemont down West End 36-6 on Friday night.
Reynolds scored a long touchdown on the Eagles’ first play from scrimmage and later caught a scoring pass from Rush Sandlin, who also connected with Reese Foell for a touchdown.
Reynolds and Hayden Robinson capped the first-half scoring with touchdown runs.
“Offensively, we executed in the first half better than we have all year,” Vinemont coach Stephen Robinson said. “And we maintained intensity, which we wanted to improve on from last week. The defense gave up minimal yards and made some great adjustments after their first series and shut them down. That’s what we wanted.”
Vinemont (5-1) hosts Hanceville next week.
Lynn 35, Cold Springs 16
The Eagles fell to the Class 1A No. 10 Bears at home on Friday night.
Mason Gable returned a kickoff around 85 yards for a touchdown before Matt Williams followed with a 2-point conversion to put Cold Springs in front 8-7 in the opening frame.
Lynn, however, took control from there and built a 28-8 halftime cushion.
Williams notched a short touchdown run in the second half and Breydon Hallmon a 2-point conversion.
Cold Springs (3-3) travels to West End next week.
Hayden 16, West Point 14
The Wildcats scored a late touchdown and 2-point conversion to upend the Warriors on Friday night.
West Point led 14-8 on a pair of Ollie Howell touchdowns before Hayden came through with 1:18 left in the matchup to pick up the win.
West Point (0-5) hosts Priceville next week.
