MAPLE CITY — The Traverse City Central boys and girls cross country teams came away with wins at the Glen Lake Invitational Saturday.
Traverse City boys narrowly defeated Glen Lake by three points and Charlevoix by six points .
Fremont finished fourth, followed by Gladwin, Petoskey. St. Michael, Kingsley and Kalakska.
For the girls, TCC ran away with the contest, followed by Glen Lake, Bear Lake, Charlevoix, Kingsley, Gladwin and Kalkaska.
Charlevoix senior Hunter Eaton won with a time of 16:15, followed by Glen Lake sophomore Spencer McNitt (16:21) and Kingsley junior Tristan Hernandez (16:47.
Trojan junior Kelly Comfort won the girls race by nearly 10 seconds over Charlevoix freshman Hannah Muladore.
A trio of Trojans rounded out the top-10 as Emily Truszkowski, Cecelia Jacobson and Claire Gross finished third, fourth and fifth.

Huskies finish second at Davison
Benzie Central nearly came away with a Davidson Invitational win Saturday, falling to Saugatuck by one point 80-81.
Benzie Central junior Avery Kelly finished second with a time of 19:05 and Maggie McClellan finished with a sixth place time of 19:42.
The Husky boys team finished fourth as Cage Edingfield finished 13th with a time of 16:37.

Lakers win Kingsley Invite
Glen Lake defeated both Traverse City Christian (3-2) and Kingsley (3-0) to go home with the Kingsley Invitational hardware.
Against the Sabres, Glen Lake’s Ollie O’Neill scored twice while Sawyer Homa added the third. Assists came from Grayson Thompson and Odin Hawley Joppich.
Anthony Forton had two saves in the shutout.
In the second game, Glen Lake defeated host Kingsley 3-0.
Homa scored two times, while freshman Oliver Toomey scored his first high school goal. Dylan Morgan and O’Neill contributed assists against the Stags.
The shutout was shared by senior Anthony Forton with six saves and Abe Jackson with one.
The Lakers (6-3-1, 1-1 NWC) and travel to Buckley on Monday night.

Buckley goes 4-1 at Grayling
The Buckley Bear volleyball team went undefeated in pool play beating Gaylord, Grayling and Hale.
Buckeley earned the No. 2 seed and defeated Bellaire in the first round before falling to Traverse City Christian in the finals.
“We had a good day with lots of improvements and good team efforts. Every game is a stepping stone to where we want to be at the end of the season,” Buckley coach Jordin Ellens said.
Kingsley wins Garber tourney
Kingsley went 4-1-1 to take home the Garber title.
The Stags (26-3-1, 3-0) split with North Branch 25-21, 23-25; def. Clare 25-17, 25-8; fell to Garber 24-26, 18-25.
Kingsley defeated Beal City 25-21, 25-15 in the quarterfinals; Ogema Heights 25-15, 25-17; and swept North Branch 25-22, 25-20.

Boyne City 2nd at Oscoda
Boyne Volleyball finished second at the Oscoda tournament, going 2-1 overall.
The Ramblers (12-11-3) lost to Atlanta in pool play, split with Oscoda, defeated Hillman, Copper Island Academy, and Roger’s City.
In the semifinals, Boyne City defeated Oscoda before losing to Atlanta.
The team was led by Addy Burns with 55 kills and 49 Digs, while Maitlyn Barkley added 30 kills and 12 aces, Lily Payton with 101 assists, Elle Wilson with 65 Digs, and Riley Theil with 22 aces.

Tritons win 2nd straight Spring Lake Invite
The Traverse City Tritons Swim and Dive team traveled to Spring Lake for their annual invitational, beating Middleville Thornapple Kellogg, Spring Lake, Holt, Muskegon Mona Shores, Fremont, Ludington and Manistee.
