TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City St. Francis girls volleyball team came out to play against Elk Rapids on Thursday.
The Gladiators brought out the broom to sweep the Elks — 25-23, 25-7 and 25-15. The win for the Glads puts them at 12-7-2 overall and drops the Elks to 14-3.
The Gladiators got contributions from Reese Jones (three aces, 10 digs, 23 assists), Tessah Konas (three kills, 10 assists), Quinn Yenshaw (three aces, 12 kills, nine digs, three blocks) Avery Nance (14 digs, six assists), Harper Nausadis (five kills, one block, two digs), Lola Brown (nine kills), Coco Miller (three aces, 10 digs), Grace Mason (six digs), Reese Muma (seven kills), Landry Fouch (three kills) and Claire Hurley (two kills).
Elk Rapids saw contributions from Caroline Best (nine kills, seven digs), Rhielynn Skrocki (five kills) and Matea Ball (16 digs).
The Gladiators host Beal City on Monday. The Elks host Charlevoix on Tuesday.

TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Central boys tennis team swept the completion on Thursday by beating Glen Lake 5-3, Big Rapids 5-3 and Muskegon Reeths-Puffer 7-1.

Tritons sink Orioles
LUDINGTON — The Traverse City Tritons co-op swim and dive team continued its impressive season with a 132-48 win against Ludington on Thursday.
The notable winners were the 200 medley relay team of Ella Cabbage, Kira Adams, Summer Lewandowski and Paige Schillinger. Hannah Lantz won the 200 freestyle and 50 freestyle. Adams also collected a win at 1-meter diving along with Skylar Hawkins. Lewandowski (100 butterfly), Johnson (100 freestyle), Abby Houghton (500 freestyle), and the 200 freestyle relay team of Houghton, Lantz, Schillinger and Cabbage also had wins.
Cabbage also took home first place in the 100 backstroke. Johnson, Adams, Lantz and Lewandowski took first in the 400 freestyle relay team.
The Tritons travel to Holland on Sept. 21 for the Holland Invitational.
Vikings pick up win
MANISTEE — The Cadillac swim team dominated the pool in Manistee on Thursday against Manistee, 104-39. The Vikings honored 10 seniors, making it the largest senior class in school history.
The Vikings honored Lilly Allen, Evelyn Barron, Jordan Sprik, Luci Bronkema, Maeve Rojas, Mary Claire Rodebaugh, Natalie Eppard, Nora Volmar, Raegan Schiopieray and Lilliana Letizio.
“The whole team put together a great meet,” Cadillac head coach Scott Leesch said. “The distance they put in practice and the work on their fine points was on full display during every race.”
The Vikings’ entire relay team took first-place finishes. Ivy Mcloed was a part of the first-place 200-medley team and took home gold in the 200 IM. Sprik took first in the 100-fly freestyle, and Peyton Barron won in the 500-freestyle and 100 backstroke.
