MANKATO — Here’s what happened in the local sports scene Thursday.
Wrestling
Mankato East senior Max Morgan earned his 150th career win Thursday night. The Cougars beat GSL/LP 58-14 while falling to New Prague 47-17 and Scott West 45-23. Nick Rosevold (133 pounds) and Morgan (189) each won three matches on the night.
Mankato West Wrestling hit the road for a pair of duals. The Scarlets knocked off Austin 43-29 and fell to Rochester Century 52-16. Maverick Baker (107/114 pounds) went 2-0 with a pin. Bly Mettler (145/152) went 2-0 with a major decision. Lincoln Lundgren went 2-0 with a pin. 285 Eli Ahmann (285) went 2-0 with a pin and a major decision. Asher Valimont (139) and 215 Jaxson Defries (215) each earned a pinfall win.
Waterville-Elysian-Morristown/Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton knocked off NRHEG 51-22. Brendan Masso (121 pounds), Trey Richards (127), Aiden Gruber (139), Brady Murphy (145), Charles Adams (172) and Kavan Sheehy (215) all earned pinfall wins. Ben Root (160) won via technical fall and Parker James (152) won via major decision.

The Cougars (17-1-1) saw sophomore Laina Peterson erupt for four goals and an assist. Ava Tibodeau, Grace Campbell and Eme Asher each had a goal and an assist. Ella Fugazzi totaled two assists. Kira Prange and Alexis Erickson each had an assist. Ilamay Draheim stopped all seven shots.
Mankato West 5 Rochester Century/John Marshall 2
Penny Gorman tallied three goals and two assists in the win. Maya Pinero had a goal and two assists. Maleah Giesen had a goal and an assist. Claire Roering had two assists and Emily Kane added a helper.
Lucy Schaefer stopped 25 of 27 shots in net.
Minnesota River 6 Worthington 0
The Bulldogs outshot Worthington 49-5 in the win.
Macey Portner finished with five assists. Noelle Simonette had two goals. Mara Von Bank had a goal and an assist. Emma Volk-Kleschult, Cristina Cruz and McKenna Andresen each scored a goal. Claire Hathaway and Reese Rehm each had an assist.
Annika Magelee held down action in net for the first and second periods while Aubrey Heller was between the pipes in the third for the shutout.

Wyatt Lien had 19 points and nine rebounds in the win. William Lien totaled 15 points and four assists. Cade Libby earned 14 points and nine rebounds. Kaden Kruse produced 11 points and six rebounds.

Carson Kettner earned a double-double for the Raiders with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Abe Madson had 17 points. Henry Kennedy added 11 points and six rebounds.

Carson Lyons not only led all players with 25 points, but scored his 1,000th point in the win. Braeden Smith had 17 points, Miles Tomaszeswski earned 14 points and Mason Kluntz added 11 points.
Tate Becker earned a double-double for the Blackhawks with 24 points and 14 rebounds while adding five steals and three assists. Dalton Tatro added 15 points and Bryce Borkenhagen finished with 14 points.

Austin Ward led the Cyclones with 30 points. Hunter Winkler added 11 points. Cole Davis led Maple River with 14 points.

Carter Lowis led the Knights with 23 points while snagging eight rebounds. Braxton Dudgeon added 15 points, five rebounds and four assists. Brayden Mathews produced 13 points. Charlie Gengler added 10 points.
MVL saw Pierson Brau earn a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Blake Sexton and Owen Birkholz each added 11 points.
