BUCKLEY — The Kingsley Stags picked up their first win of the 2023-24 varsity girls basketball, besting Buckley on the road by a 64-29 final.
Emilee Robinson led the way with 29 points to help the Stags avoid their first 0-2 start since the 2020-21 season.
Other notable scorers for the Stags were Grace Lewis (19 points), Alena Stewart (10 points), and Anne Strange (9 points). Buckley’s leading score was Kayla Milarch with nine points.
The Bears (1-1, 0-1 Northwest) haven’t started the season 1-1 since the 2019-20 campaign, but Buckley will look to bounce back at Grand Traverse Academy on Tuesday.
The Stags travel to Kalkaska before hosting their first home game of the season on Dec. 18.
