TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Bay Reps kept their undefeated streak to open the 2023-24 season alive as they took down Alpena on Saturday.
The Reps wiped away the Wildcats by an 8-1 score, improving to 5-0 on their season while outscoring their opponents at a 28-7 clip.
The Reps tallied three goals in the first period on a natural hat trick from Grant Lucas with three assists from Ethan Coleman, two assists from Joel Ziecina and one assist from Thomas Boynton-Fisher.
The lamp was lit three more times in the second period as the Reps put the game out of reach. Lewis Walter, Rowan Blain and Boynton-Fisher each scored. Picking up assists were Boynton-Fisher, Ben Newman, Lucas, Coleman and Ziecina.
Aiden Fairbank and Walter found the back of the net in the third period to put the finishing touches on the win. Larson Millar, Zach Gerlando and Newman tallied assists.
Tyler Boynton-Fisher got the win between the pipes with 17 saves.
The Reps next play when they head to Gaylord for the D3 Showcase at the Otsego County Sportsplex. They battle Bay City at 10 a.m. Friday and then square off against Grand Rapids Catholic Central at 6 p.m. Saturday.
