TRAVERSE CITY — The Traverse City Central boys varsity basketball team came out to play in front of their home fans Thursday against Alpena.
Trojans senior Anthony Ribel led things by racking up 25 points in the 94-50 win to snap a three-game losing streak. The Trojans haven’t scored over 90 points in a game since the 2009-10 season.
“It was a good team win,” Central head coach Ben Fischer said. “Happy to see a lot of guys get involved in positive ways. It’s some basketball that we’ve seen in flashes, but it’s nice to see us put four quarters together.”
TC Central (2-8, 2-3 Big North) got contributions from Owen Ribel (20 points), Brendan Slack (12 points), EJ Maitland (10 points), Jaden Clark (10 points, five assists), Jack Potgieter (nine points, eight rebounds) and Ethan Rademacher (five assists).
The Trojans begin their three-game road trip at Cadillac on Jan 19.
