HOOPESTON — The Hoopeston Area girls basketball team hung tough with Watseka on Thursday, but lost 35-28.
Maddie Barnes had 12 points for the Cornjerkers, who was down only 27-26 after the third quarter, while Addyson Kelnhofer had eight points and Brylie Cox had six points.
Megan Martin led the Warriors with 12 points.
The Cornejerkers will take on Heritage on Saturday.
