DANVILLE — Senior Peyton Kuemmerle playing in his final regular season game at Shebby Gymnasium scored a game-high 16 points as the Schlarman Academy Hilltoppers defeated the Salt Fork Storm 45-39 in overtime.
Kuemmerle had 11 points in the second half and overtime, but it was the Hilltoppers defense that held the Storm scoreless in overtime that sealed the victory.
Noah Fowler chipped in with 15 as Schlarman improves to 13-10 overall and 7-5 in the Vermilion Valley Conference.
Jameson Remole and Kamdyn Keller led the scoring attack for Salt Fork with 11 points each while Gavin Holmes finished with 10. The Storm falls to 17-10 overall and 7-5 in the VVC.
