MONTICELLO — Playing the top-ranked team in Class 1A proved to be a daunting assignment for the Oakwood Comets in the Monticello Holiday Hoopla.
The Tuscola Warriors, the defending Class 1A state champions, improved to 12-0 with an 80-37 victory over the Comets.
Parker James had a game-high 17 points for Tuscola, while Kam Sweetnam and Jordan Quinn chipped in with 13 each.
Bryson McDaniel came off the bench to score a team-high 8 points for Oakwood (9-4).
Up next for the Comets will be games today against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 10 a.m. and Paxton-Buckley-Loda at 6 p.m.
