MONTICELLO — The Oakwood boys basketball team had a rough start to the Monticello Holiday Tournament on Thursday.
The Comets started the day with a 94-37 loss to Tuscola. Alex Wallace had 14 points to lead Oakwood, while Jackson Dudley had 11 and Brandt Hobick and Carsen Dudley each added four.
Oakwood then started its second game with a 20-point first quarter and a 33-29 halftime lead, but host Monticello rallied in the second half to get a 64-52 win.
Carsen Dudley and Hobick each had 13 for the comets, while Ben Darling had nine points and Jackson Dudley added eight.
The Comets will take on Ridgeview on Friday in their final game of pool play. The result of that game will determine what game Oakwood plays on Saturday.
